DESCRIPTION
This is a half-day, hands-on, moderated workshop that will allow you
to evaluate different pattern library tools. You will teamed up with
others, given a design problem, and assigned one of four pattern tools
to use to solve that problem. Afterwards, your team will share its
insights about working with that tool.
You don't have to bring a laptop, we'll provide the hardware! The pattern tools are:
• The Quince Pattern Library
• The Yahoo Design Pattern Library
• The Welie.com Pattern Library
• Designing Social Interfaces Patterns
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This workshop is ideal for anyone tasked with constructing online
applications where designers and developers are in frequent contact with
each other. Pattern libraries help designers and developers find a
common language with which to communicate, and save time by providing
solutions to problems without needing to re-invent the wheel.
Interaction designers, developers, project managers, content
strategists, and information architects are welcome, as is anyone else
seeking to broaden their user experience toolset. Although some
familiarity with pattern libraries will be helpful, it is not required.
Questions?
If you have questions about this workshop, you can submit these to us ahead of time.
Please arrive by 12:45 p.m. to allow time for security and registration. Photo ID required for building entry. It must match the name on the registration list.
