What the Current Officers Do
President:
• Sets strategy and vision for the organization
• Works with related organizations to co-host events
• Defines event-related milestones and methods for managing them
• Monitors audience segmentation
• Vets presentations and prepares presenters for events
• Is the Senior Editor for all communications
• Builds relationships with sponsors and venues for hosting events
• Maintains ownership of 7-10 websites that make up NYC UXPA's administration
• Finds creative methods to keep volunteers informed and engaged
• Collaborates with the Treasurer to manage financial & legal affairs
Approximate time commitment per month: 30-40 hours
Vice President:
• Assumes Presidency if the current President is no longer able to serve
• Acts as a second signatory for approval of chapter expenses
• Assists the President with various chapter initiatives
Approximate time commitment per month: 5-10 hours
Treasurer:
• Maintains the chapter's bank account and finances, including receipt of event
registrations, annual member dues and other income
• Monitors monthly expenditures
• Provides guidance and counsel regarding major expenses
• Provides expense reimbursement for speakers and chapter volunteers
• Pays vendor invoices for chapter expenses
• Prepares quarterly reports
• Works with accountant to reconcile monthly financial activity
• Provides income and expense records of chapter to tax accountants
• Ensures the filing and annual renewal of chapter tax documentation
